Legalization for Brazil
Before travelling to Brazil for a permanent residence or work, it is necessary to properly legalize your documents for use in this country.
The following documents can be legalized in Russia for use in Brazil: birth certificate, marriage certificate, change of name certificate, death certificate, non-availability of civil registration certificate, Power of Attorney, statement, testimonial, diploma, academic transcript, educational standards and other documents issued in Russia in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation, at the request of various organizations and institutions in Brazil.
The consular legalization procedure for Brazil in Russia consists of several stages:
- Registration of notarial technical copies of the document to be legalized. Then the document must be translated into Portuguese and the translation notarized
- Authentication of the notary’s seal/stamp and signature at the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation

- Certification of the seal/stamp of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and the signature of the official at the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation
- The signature of the official and the seal/stamp of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are authenticated at the Consulate of Brazil in Moscow
It should be borne in mind that the procedure for verification of higher education documents issued in Russian continues in Brazil. The diploma is verified at a state higher education institution of Brazil teaching the same or similar specialty specified in the diploma.
